Every month, I share Flâneries—a personal newsletter chronicling my evolution as a photographer. From the streets I walk to the light I chase, it’s a monthly update on what I’m seeing and what I’m learning. I’d love to have you along for the journey.

Chartres, March 2026
"Travel the world and the seven seas Everybody’s looking for something” Eurythmics – Sweet Dreams"
Ciao a tutti! Back for another update.
"There are cities whose very name immediately conjures up an image, a monument, an event. They are places experienced and explored almost exclusively for that magnetic centre of theirs. But what happens on the fringes of this grandeur?
What do the streets look like as one moves away from the main attraction? Do these ordinary, seemingly insignificant spaces possess a dignity of their own? And even if these places had nothing specific to attract the tourist’s attention, would they not still retain their own beating heart, their own intimate and silent essence?
Rue Rivoli, Paris
A recent visit to Guido Guidi’s exhibition at Le BAL in Paris sparked this reflection in me, leading me to look at space through different eyes.
Guido Guidi is one of the undisputed masters at lending dignity to the marginal and everyday landscape

I decided to apply this ‘new lens’ during a short trip to Chartres, on an ordinary Saturday. Chartres is famous throughout the world and is visited almost exclusively for the majesty of its cathedral. But what is the city like before the pilgrims and tourists arrive? Is it possible to portray it in a different way, detached from its iconic monument?
The photographic and narrative project I am presenting to you this month is built precisely on these questions. It is an attempt to portray a place in its moment of anticipation, before it becomes exactly as we all know and expect it to be."
You can find the project at the end of the newsletter.
I continued exploring my Polaroid journey, whit mixed results, particularly on black and white film. But again, is a fascinating world and I am committed to exploring it further.

This March's newsletter comes with the opening of the Spring season, and I am excited to chaise the first light of a new time. I realised that so far my projects were on black & white only and not necessarily for an artistic reason.
Spring will be about color, for sure.
Thank for taking the time to read Flàneries. As promised, here is THE QUIET SIDE, the last project about Chartres.

Flàneries Newsletter - #29 Hammersmith, London, April 2026 "Whatever you do, do it well. Do it so well that when people see you doing it, they’ll want to come back to see you do it again." Walt Disney Ciao a tutti! A coffee break. That’s what this newsletter is meant to be: a moment of relaxation, an invitation to calm down, despite the thousands of emails we receive every day. Perhaps that’s why I’ve dusted off one of my film cameras: manual focus and fully mechanical settings. A return to...
